TRACK RULES & REGULATIONS

Our main priority at Acadiana Speedway is to maintain a Safe atmosphere.  We follow WKA rules; however, IKF motors are allowed to run with WKA restrictor plates where applicable.

Ø      Upon entering the racetrack, you will be given an armband to show that your entry fee (not driver’s fee) has been paid at the gate.  Everyone entering the gates MUST wear the armbands.  This policy will be strictly enforced.  Failure to show proof of an armband will require you to pay an additional $10.00 at the gate.

Ø      Drivers will be responsible for their conduct and the conduct of all those associated with their team while at Acadiana Speedway.

Ø      We will not tolerate any yelling at flag men or any track official at anytime.  All official calls stand.   You cannot protest an official call.

Ø      Profanity will not be tolerated.  Again, this is a Family atmosphere.

Ø      No alcoholic beverages allowed in Pit Area.

Ø      Rough driving will not be tolerated.  You will be disqualified (DQ).

Ø      All karts must pass pre-race inspection.

Ø      Helmets with face shield, neck brace, gloves and driving suit must be worn. No Exceptions.

Ø      All drivers must register by 4:30 p.m.   Any drivers arriving late will start in back of both heat races.

Ø      There will not be any refunds after hot laps.

Ø      Mufflers are mandatory on all karts.  No Exceptions.

Ø      Mufflers must not pass the rear bumper.

Ø      You must enter and exit the track SLOWLY.

Ø      We have a cold pit.  Do not drive your kart anywhere in the pit area.

Ø      The flag man will display the green on exit of Turn 4.  The race begins at the White Line; at that point there will be no passing before you cross the White Line.  The Pole Kart sets the pace; everyone else must keep a tight formation (i.e. Nose to Tail, Side to Side).  NO JUMPING START.  After the Second attempt to restart the race, it will start Single File.

Ø      All karts involved in bringing out a Caution will restart in the rear.

Ø      No racing to yellow.  SLOW DOWN.

Ø      The Black Flag will be awarded to any kart/driver or crew member displaying unsportsmanlike conduct, for rough driving, parts loss, or fluid loss on the track. You MUST see the tech official before you can re-enter the race.

Ø      Top 4 karts MUST line up at scales after the completion of each race.

Ø      All karts MUST go through scales after each heat and feature race.

Ø      The track reserves the right to Tech at anytime.

Ø      All protests must be made by a driver in that class before the kart leaves the Tech Area. Protest must be made within 10 minutes after the Feature.  Protest will cost $60.00.  If protested engine is legal, the owner/driver will receive $40.00 and the techman will receive $20.00.  If protested engine is illegal, the owner/driver will lose points, money and trophy for that race.  Protestor will be returned $40.00 and the track will retain $20.00 for the techman.  ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL.  Drivers, not tech man, are responsible for disassembling and assembling the kart.

Ø      Any person in the pit area, who has evidence of substance abuse (beer, wine, drugs) or is seen using any substance during a race meet, will be barred from participating in racing activities.

Ø      Any person involved in a fight at the track will be arrested.

Ø      Bonfires will not be allowed in the pit area.

Ø      When you enter Acadiana Speedway, please take a look around.  This is a clean, well-groomed facility.  You are responsible for keeping your racing pit area clean.  There are numerous trash cans available on the property.  PLEASE USE THEM.

Ø      Do not dump used oil on the ground.  We have waste oil drums – USE THEM.

Ø      The only vehicles allowed in the Pit Area are those pulling a trailer.  All other vehicles MUST park in the Spectator area.  Handicapped Parking will be designated in the Spectator parking.  Please respect these areas for those who are in need of this parking.

Ø      No bicycles, scooters, 4 wheelers, etc. will be allowed at the racetrack.  This is for everyone’s safety.  No playing football or throwing of any balls in the pit area.  This for everyone’s safety.  Also, please respect your neighbor’s pit area (no running in the pits and in other’s pit areas).

The rules set forth are designed to keep orderly conduct of racers and crew participating in these events.  By entering these events, you agree to and will uphold these rules.

(Competitive kart racing can result in injury and/or death to the participant.  The rules are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport, not a guarantee against injury or death to participants, spectators or others.)
